This is the era between the two most succesfull periods of this club. During this era some talented players where playing for PSV. PSV was just unfortunate that arguably the best team of the world at that moment (Ajax) was playing in the same league. For this reason the amount of silverware collected consists of only: 2 league titles, 1 national cup and 3 national super cups.

With Ronaldo PSV had arguably the most talented attacker of the world in the past 20 years. His successor van Nistelrooy evolved into perhaps the most lethal striker of the world. On top of their individual talent they had the chance to blossom because of Nilis technique and intelligence. He is one of the most underrated players of the last two decades. Ronaldo, van Nistelrooy, Cocu, Stam, Vampeta and Zenden earned transfers to Europe's elite teams during this period.
